The Monmouth branch of the Royal Naval Association (RNA) were invited to the Fountain Inn at Trelleck to drink the last cask of the first brew of Black Duke Ale.

On Tuesday 7th July, the RNA met Steve Pocock and his wife Jill, owners of the Fountain Inn, to drink the unique ale.

The branch President Commodore Tobin Elliott, the chairman, and 12 members of RNA Monmouth enjoyed a very convivial visit to The Fountain.

The RNA also met the men responsible for the creation of Black Duke, Ed and Mark of Kingstone Brewery.

Chris Rogers, a member of the Royal Naval Association, said: "RNA Monmouth thank Steve and Jill for a very enjoyable party. The Black Duke Ale was appreciated by all as a good example of a traditional British Ale.

"We look forward to Black Duke being a popular beer in lots of local pubs."
