40 over match: Yorkley (144 all out) lost to Tintern (145 for 8) by 2 wickets

The Tintern cricket team travelled to Yorkley last Sunday hoping to continue their successful reason and avenge the narrow defeat in the corresponding home fixture. The weather, though mostly overcast, was playable throughout and set up another close encounter.

Captain Mark Evans again won the toss and put Yorkley in to bat. Stuart Williams and Steve Taylor opened the bowling and soon the pair had settled into steady spells, picking up a wicket apiece to peg back the Yorkley innings. Liam Hurcombe (37) was then joined by Andy Rowles (13), and against the bowling of James Taylor and Ieuan Ellis they put together a solid partnership to take the score on to 72 for 2 wickets in the 18th over.
