FOLLOWING a really successful first year, the Friends of St Mary and St Peter's Church, Tidenham are holding an art competition and exhibition from Friday 15th May to Sunday 17th May in the Old School Village Hall, Tidenham Chase.

The aim of the exhibition is primarily to select a picture to become the face of St Mary and St Peter churches but also to create a sense of community by involving as many as possible in the competition and exhibition. The winning picture will be used as a print or a postcard which will be offered for sale with the original being auctioned at an appropriate time, to raise funds for the Friends.

The church intends to contact all those who have been married or christened in the Church and wish to buy a personalised print with the date of the occasion.

A panel of artists will judge the artistic merits of each submission, and judging will take place prior to the exhibition opening on Friday 15th May. Any aspect of the parish church of St Mary and St Peter Tidenham, its history, architecture, appearance and character, both inside and out, can form part of the subject.

The objectives of the Friends are to assist in the care, maintenance and preservation of the fabric of the church.
