SIR,
I wish to congratulate the Savoy Youth Theatre on their recent performance of The Wiz at the Savoy Theatre.
The show was a delight from start to finish, and this plucky group of performers struggled on valiantly through slight technical difficulties with their microphones, proving that the show must, and indeed did, go on.
The outstanding performance of the night was Sarah Brice starring in the lead role of Dorothy.
Sarah was one of the youngest members of the cast, but her beautiful and clear voice had a maturity beyond her years.
The performances of the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the very cuddly Lion were well observed and witty, and together with the supporting cast of munchkins, dancers, witches and wizards made the show a real success.
It was wonderful to see the beautiful Savoy Theatre put to such good use.
Many congratulations to Vic Bignall and his team, and all the young people involved.
