THE Dell Primary School, Chepstow, may be on the receiving end of thousands of pounds in grants if the public can get behind it in a vote.

The school has made it to the national public vote round of the OneFamily Foundation grant award, if successful in this round it will receive a £5000 grant.

The grant will be used for a play, learn and grow project which will fund equipment to help students learn through playing.

The nomination was made by the the school’s Parent Teacher Association who work with the school to identify areas which could benefit from fundraising.

The project is based off research which shows that children learning though play is an essential part of childhood development.

It will enhance the learning and social skills of the students with new equipment and the replacement of broken and poor condition resources which the school is unable to fund.

Voting is done via the OneFamily Foundation website www.foundation.onefamily.com/projects/play-learn-and-grow and is now open.

The school hopes to rally as much community support as they can before the voting closes on 20th July.
