SIR,

I would like to thank the senior leadership team, teaching and administration staff at Monmouth Comprehensive School for a superbly organised new entrant's evening last Tuesday.

The event was exceptionally organised and provided all the information needed by students and parents. Above all the atmosphere was very welcoming to the new students and their families. The speeches from the new Head Boy, Head Girl and their Deputies were totally natural and spoken from the heart. It was delightful to see other Sixth Formers mingle with the children, offering encouragement and quelling any jitters about moving to High School.

Further to this the Taster Days were really appreciated as this gave the children a true flavour of life at the Comp and turned any butterflies into excitement. Last but not least the disco on Friday, again gave the opportunity to spend time in the new school environment and provided another chance to catch up with new school colleagues and consume lots of sweets and exchange emails.

Finally I would like to wish all of the Year Six children at Osbaston Primary School lots of luck as they move onto the next stage in their education. Furthermore good luck to all participants at Osbaston in their forthcoming production of Alice in Wonderland – break a leg! (Not literally please).
