SIR,
Macmillan Cancer Support would like to invite all the Monmouthshire Beacon readers to take part in our World's Biggest Coffee Morning on 30th September.
It's easy, just get together with friends, colleagues or family and enjoy a cake and a cuppa – it's a great way to catch up and help raise vital funds for people living with cancer in Gwent.
Last year, Gwent hosted 200 coffee mornings, and raised a fantastic £25,000. All donations made in South East Wales are re-invested locally.
The money you help raise will allow Macmillan fund specialist services, like the new information co-ordinator for Monmouthshire and the GP facilitator for Gwent, as well as awarding 197 personal grants totalling £63,000 to help residents with financial hardship.
Although coffee morning officially takes place on Friday 30th September, you can hold your event on any date, any time and you don't have to serve coffee.
Why not organise a glamorous coffee themed evening, or hold a smoothie fest, or cheese and wine evening, whatever suits your taste buds.
All that matters is that you take part and help us make our 21st the World's Biggest Coffee Morning the biggest ever.
We are also running two competition's in partnership with Brace's Bread.
The first is an exciting school competition, inviting schools to challenge their pupils to design a new flavour Welshcake/ bread or new product that Brace's would consider creating, and winning some exciting prizes.
The second is open to anyone raising over £150 with the chance of winning a years supply of Welshcakes. To register go to http://www.bracesbakery.co.uk">www.bracesbakery.co.uk
