An operation to tackle the problem of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) driving through Usk took place earlier this month.

Gwent Police teamed up with VOSA to clamp down on drivers contravening the town's set weight limit, as well as other road safety issues including speeding and vehicle defects.

Heavy goods vehicles contravening the 7.5 tonne weight limit set for the Usk Town route have caused problems for the town for a number of years.
