THE Beacon is supporting a Churches of Monmouth initiative which aims to collect 500 small Christmas selection packets for the young people backed by Welsh charity Llamau.

The Churches of Monmouth have supported the homelessness charity for a number of years at Christmas and through the collection of Easter eggs.

This Christmas, they are asking for donations of Cadbury’s selection packs. These specific packs, which cost around £1, are crucial so that the young people and children of vulnerable mothers all have the same gift.

There are an estimated 5,000 young people in need in Monmouthshire, Cardiff and Newport, so if you can help, drop the pictured selection pack into collection points located in the Beacon office, in Bridges Centre or Bridges Charity Shop. Parishioners are asked to donate to their respective churches.

The final date for donations is 9th December.
