SWALLOW whisperer Monmouthshire man Ed Beverley-Jones, 43, has set off on his bike heading south follow the swallow migration in aid of St David’s Hospice Care.

As reported in the Beacon on 13th September, Ed, known to as many in Monmouthshire as ‘The Pond Guy’, is self-funding his mammoth Wales-Africa-Wales bike ride in aid of St David’s Hospice Care.

The epic journey will see him pedal the donated bike from Wales through England across France to Spain, Portugal to Morocco and then back.

Ed looks after ponds for a living and sees the swallows swoop in, in the spring, flutter about in the barn make their nests fly in and out to get their insect food from the nearby fields and woods and then gather with their young ready for their trip south.

Always wanting to see where the swallows go, he decided to follow them and raise money for a good cause as well.
