On visiting Monmouth over the bank holiday weekend, I was surprised to see a number of senior citizens picking up litter in the extreme heat of the afternoon. While I applaud their public spiritedness, I could not help wondering where the young people were, who were recently demonstrating their concern for the environment.
I really can’t imagine that those stout hearted citizens were the ones responsible for dropping the litter in the first place.
