Once again I appeal to your generosity in supporting the mayor's charities, this year being Overmonnow Special Needs Unit, the Army Benevolent Fund and Monmouth Mobility.

Tickets for the Mayor's Spectacular, a family orientated event which takes place on Thursday 2nd May at 7pm at Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls, can be purchased at Posies and the Nelson Museum at £5 and £7.

The committee has secured for your entertainment a varied and talented cross-section of local talent being, in order of appearance;

• Monmouth Ballet School, three to five-year-olds

• Overmonnow Special Needs group

• Savoy Youth Theatre (younger group)

• Jim Newcomb and Jeoff Manning

• Monmouth Ballet School, six to nine-year-olds

• Savoy Youth Theatre (older group)

• Off Centre Theatre represented by Jane and Graham Bryant

• Monmouth Male Voice Choir

• Monmouth Music Theatre

• Mario Conway and his accordion

• The Jazz Crusaders
