THE third Access for All forum was held in County Hall, Usk last Wednesday (20th May).
The meeting set up for people living with disabilities was hosted by Monmouthshire County Council working in partnership with local equalities organisation Monmouthshire Voices.
Over 80 people attended to discuss health and well-being, including mental health.
Officers from the council's mental health and learning disability team attended as well as a representative from Aneurin Bevan Health Board.
Council leader Peter Fox was present and the forum was chaired by Councillor Phil Hobson, deputy leader and equalities champion.
A lively session discussed diagnosis for adults with ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), mental health support for stroke victims, provision for Alzheimer's sufferers, transport to and from hospital, waiting lists and supported hours.
Pennie Walker runs the Monmouthshire Voices project which aims to enable people with disabilities to have their say in the development and delivery of local services. She said: "I am so pleased that so many people attended this forum and it is proving to be very popular.
"Health is a vast subject and I appreciate the representatives that gave their time to address people's issues. It is wonderful that the council is so supportive and actively engaging with the disabled community and its support is very much appreciated.
"I am particularly pleased that many people feel their voices are being heard and that they are contributing their views towards the services they receive."
The forum was streamed live on MCC's YouTube Channel and can be viewed by visiting http://www.youtube.com">www.youtube.com and searching for Monmouthshire County Council. This facility enables those unable to attend to engage.
