A NUMBER of ghoulish acts around Chepstow came to a close this week, with a world record attempt with a difference.

El Lurchio, real name Ian Brown, attempted a new world record for the furthest vehicle pull with a sword down the throat and the heaviest vehicle pulled with a sword down the throat.

A seasoned sword swallower, Ian also holds the current world record for holding two curved swords down his throat for a total of 13 seconds.

Previously seen performing on hit ITV show Britain’s Got Talent, he attempted the record: pulling the FearFest-Evil hearse.

To add to the difficulty it was fully loaded with fellow members of Circus Of Horrors, who have been performing at Chepstow’s National Diving and Activity Centre for three weeks.

The attempt took place at the former Mabey Bridge site, off Station Road in Chepstow, yesterday (Tuesday, 31st October).

Ian said: “We are always happy to give performances that keep up the evil.”
