THE voluntary team behind Caldicot Castle’s evening of fireworks will host its annual spectacular display on Sunday 1st November this year.
The team have partnered with the national radio station, Capital FM, to give families and visitors of the castle another night of impressive bursts of light and explosions.
This year includes a fairground, children’s rides, a licensed bar, food stalls, a visit from familiar characters, fire dancers and eaters, an amazing stage with brilliant live entertainment from Capital FM’s Matt, Polly and Geraint and one incredible firework show! The castle and countryside park saw thousands of people come through the gates last year and is looking for a repeat performance this year.
The team is a partnership between Monmouthshire County Council, Caldicot Town Council, Caldicot Town Team and local residents.
Family tickets can only be purchased online at www.caldicotfireworks.co.uk at £10 for two adults and two children. Tickets can be purchased on the gate at £3 per person with children under sevens entering for free.
Lewis Vickery, a member of the team, said: “It was huge last year – quite surprising how many people turned up but this year will be bigger and better. I am very excited to be helping to organise it and to see how it all comes together. It is an amazing thing for Caldicot. It is great to get big community events happening here. The display will be incredible with the backdrop of the castle along with the music.”
Kelly Christopher and Owen Wilce coordinate the voluntary stewards on the evening who make sure that the evening runs smoothly, “The success of this event is down to people doing everything they can to make sure the event is a safe and enjoyable one for everybody. This year’s firework display is proving to be even bigger, so we need people to chip in and lend a hand. If you’ve got a couple of hours to give, register your details visiting the website– thank you in advance!”
“The type of thing that we ask stewards to help us with are making sure the public don’t enter dangerous firework zones, collect money on the gate, answer queries from the public, or direct vehicles through the car park.”
If you have a couple of hours to give and help run this event, please register your details at www.caldicotfireworks.co.uk or contact Caldicot Castle on Facebook or Twitter.
