THREE performers from Stagecoach Monmouth have been given roles in an internationally cast performance of West Side Story.
Elliot Gooch, Alexander Long and Jordan Long, all aged 17, join a cast of 77 Stagecoach students to perform at the Leatherhead Theatre later this month.
With only a three week period from being cast to performing, the students are taking part in a drama training camp in Twickenham to rehearse daily for their roles.
At the camp the students, all aged between nine and 19, are refining their skills alongside Stagecoach students from the UK, Malta, USA and Spain.
Stagecoach production manager, Matthew Clark, said: "The children are having a brilliant time rehearsing for the production of West Side Story. It's been fantastic bringing together a wide range of international performers and training them in such a short space of time.
"It is an experience that will prove to be valuable for a future in the world of theatre."
Elliot Gooch of Stagecoach Monmouth, said: "I am having an incredible time preparing for the production of West Side Story, and to have one of the lead roles is an amazing opportunity. I have worked really hard throughout my time at Stagecoach Monmouth and this is the icing on the cake!"
Elliot Gooch will play the role of Riff, the quick-tempered leader of the Jets.
The performance will take place from the 15th - 17th August at Leatherhead Theatre in Surrey.
Tickets for the performances are available online at http://www.leatherhead-tickets.co.uk">www.leatherhead-tickets.co.uk or via the box office on 01372 365 141. Tickets are £20 for adults and £15 for concessions.
