AGINCOURT nursery and year one pupils had a visit from the mayor of Monmouth, Councillor Graham Pritchard and his consort to celebrate St David’s Day.

The pupils from year one danced in traditional Welsh costume before treating the mayor to Welsh cakes and a cup of tea.

Meanwhile, there were smiles all around at the start of Cross Ash Primary School’s Eisteddfod with the costume judging. Pupils went to school in Welsh-themed clothes and sold daffodils for Marie Curie.
