SIR, In response the criticisms by N. Lewis may I point out Special Constables usually work one eight hour shift each fortnight and that the position is entirely unpaid. I regularly speak in Parliament on legislation relating to law and order and the experience of being a "part-time policeman" has provided me with invaluable insights. I would certainly not allow this position to interfere with my Parliamentary duties in Monmouthshire which will always be my first priority. David Davies (MP for Monmouth)
