The 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers Napoleonic Re-enactment Society held their annual event at The Kymin last weekend (22nd and 23rd April) in conjunction with the National Trust.

There was a range of activities including drill, musketry and battlefield surgery demonstrations.

Visitors were able to walk around their camp, chatting to the soldiers and their wives, listening to explanations of camp life, musketry and battlefield tactics.

Kymin Deputy Manager, Martin Kerrigan, said: “It is always such a delight having them here. It really helps to bring the history of The Kymin alive, which of course has strong links to the Napoleonic wars due to the Naval Temple, and Nelson’s visit here.”

Society Secretary Paul Connell added: “It has been our pleasure to allow visitors to the Kymin to watch our first live practice of the year.”
