THE Chepstow A SQUAD had a pretty comfortable win against Wyesham on Saturday 23rd January, although things weren't looking so good at first. Half an hour before kick off, there were only ten men – but fortunately James Daw turned up to fill the gap.

Players struggled in the thick mud. The first goal was by Dave Livermore, hitting a 20-yard free kick into the top corner, courtesy of a lucky deflection off the wall. The second goal came from Mark Baynton. Trying to cross the ball into the box for Daw, he actually sent into the bottom corner from an acute angle.

The third goal was a header from Baynton, after a perfectly weighted left foot cross from Bailey. The fourth goal was a simple header by Adam Ellis, after a perfect dink of a cross from the right by Bailey. It was a good goal from a striker who also found it hard in the sticky conditions.

The fifth goal (some say the goal of the season) was something straight from the training ground. Bailey pulled off a clever corner, whipping it low and through the defenders' legs into the path of Steve Patterson, who smashed it into the net with ease.

The sixth and final goal was a lucky mis-hit lob by Livermore over the keeper's head.
