THE location of the inner bailey of a Norman fort has been found in Monmouth.

Archaeologist Steve Clarke yesterday confirmed there is a ditch running underneath St John Street and Glendower Street.

Steve has also found a number of animal bones, including horns and a jaw bone, and a jug handle made in the 14th century.
