Monmouthshire Show Chair Stephanie Harris has praised her committee, the volunteers and main sponsor Monnow Marquees that helped to make the 2026 show a success.
“This year’s show was a fantastic celebration bringing together the farming community, local families, exhibitors, visitors, volunteers and supporters for a memorable occasion. The enthusiasm, hard work and commitment shown by everyone involved was evident throughout the show and contributed greatly to its success
“We were determined to get back the agricultural heart to the Show and we succeeded: increased livestock section with over 200 sheep, 30 cattle and 70 pygmy goats. Add to that the horses in the main ring as part of the ever popular Scurry, Inter-Hunt relay competitions and friendly family ponies - we achieved just that!
!With the increased number of trade and food stands, it all made for a special Monmouth event. All entertainment at the show stage was first class and we want that to continue - supporting local talent where we can. Every one of the main stage performers this year were from Monmouthshire.
“This year we worked in partnership with the local Savoy Theatre who provided a nucleus of support. We are always looking for new volunteers both at the show and on the committee so if you are interested get in touch via the email on our website.
“Next year the Show will be 170 years old and that cements it as an integral part of the fabric of the Monmouth community. It is really heartening to have received so many supportive messages from the public, traders, and exhibitors this year.
“The committee is determined to do just that and build on the positives of which there were many to ensure the Show stays as a must-go-to-see part of the Monmouth diary.”
