Pirates anchored in Church Street last week and were spotted invading the local shops and leaving Creates restaurant after gallivanting with the staff and holding children at gunpoint!
A very mischievous parrot joined the gang, making inappropriate comments to all and sundry, with a few goody bags thrown in to appease onlookers.
They were on the look-out for a new crew hoping to press gang unsuspecting children into joining their hunt for Captain Flint’s treasure.
If you want to be a pirate and join the crew you need to make your way to the Savoy Theatre this Christmas for a swashbuckling performance of Treasure Island.
With all the traditional pantomime interaction, toe-tapping songs, silly jokes and the best-ever cast you won’t want to miss out on your tickets.
We have all the well known characters you’d expect from Treasure Island. Long John Silver will be evily played by our regular west end star Robert Traynor; Mrs Hawkins is obviously played by our beloved Dame, Kevin Tillett.
Nicholas Benjamin returns with his brilliant comedic timing as Ben Gun, and returning too is Alison Hellings bringing a beautiful twist on the character of Livesey.
Finally we can introduce two newcomers this year - local performer Chez Dunford, who you may have seen at the Wye River Festival, and coming a little further, all the way from Malta is the amazing Josh Takacs playing Jim Hawkins (hopefully not bringing any dinosaurs with him from the Jurassic Park franchise!)
After being the only pantomime company in Wales who made it to the end of our run last year, we wanted to say a big thank you to all our loyal audiences for continuing to support us though some of the theatre’s darkest times.
We hope to welcome you back again this year to help make a magical Christmas for everyone.
