Chepstow craftsman Nick Heywood carefully installs the first of 11 plaques, which will form part of an historic Blue Plaque Trail of Monmouth's most celebrated buildings. Other buildings included in the Trail are: Drybridge House, St Thomas' Church, Great Castle House. The White Swan Inn, Monmouth Priory, St Mary's Priory Church, St Mary's Roman Catholic Chuch, The Savoy Theatre, The Beaufort Arms and the New Market Hall. The wall plaques, featuring white lettering (in English and Welsh) on a blue glaze background, were funded by Monmouth Town Council who are also funding an accompanying guide book. "They've been absolsutely fantastic,' said Grahame Thomas, the Chair of Monmouth Civic Society who were reponsible for the project. "We hope to have installed all 11 plaques within the next four to six weeks. It's great news for historical Monmouth."
