DIVERSIONS are in place around the A449 at Usk after a serious road traffic collision this afternoon.

Emergency service were called to the scene of the crash on the southbound side of the road just before the Usk slip road turn off at approximately 3.30pm today.

Officers and responders from fire and ambulance services are in attendance and are dealing with a one vehicle collision. This has resulted in the three passengers suffering injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to ring 101 quoting log 334 25/06/15.

The collision has resulted in the A449 being closed with local diversions in place. Gwent Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible due to traffic congestion.
