MORE than 800 rowers from 41 clubs made a big splash at the 80th anniversary Monmouth Regatta, which stayed on course despite high winds making for testing conditions.
Last Sunday's (29th May) 1,500m course at the Monmouthshire Building Society-sponsored event proved unrowable above Dixton Church, with the strong upstream breeze causing rough water, and organisers took the decision to race from the 750m again as in Saturday's sprint.
