SIR,
As one of the 800 who managed to get a ticket, I feel I must write to congratulate the students and staff involved in the production of 'Schools Will Rock You' which took place last week at Monmouth Comprehensive School.
I attended the first night of the show with friends and I can quite honestly say that we all thought they rocked.
Familiar with all the Queen songs, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole performance and were quite stunned by the quality of singing and acting from the cast. Bella Biggs, Molly Brickley-Clark, Daniel Morgan and Nathan Friend led the show with fantastic support from Dan Dunmore as Brit and Sarah Brice as Meat.
The comic timing displayed by Eleanor Nicholson as Pop the librarian in the second half of the show brought gales of laughter from the audience. The music provided by the band to support the cast was quite outstanding.
So much hard work must have gone into making this production the success it was, especially as the cast gave an extra matinee performance this year. They must have been exhausted by the end of the four show run, giving the amount of energy and enthusiasm needed for each performance.
This is the first production I have attended but I will definitely be there next year to see the many talents of the Monmouth Comprehensive School students. Well done to everyone involved.
Mrs Baker
