The Savoy Theatre was renamed and transformed last week into the Blackberry Theatre for the filming of new CBBC programme, Wizards vs Aliens. CBBC cast and crew had the run of the place for four days from Friday 9th May to Monday 12th May. Director of the Savoy Theatre, Chris Ryde, said: "There have been loads of people preparing and filming in the theatre over the past few days. "The director of the series, Lee Haven-Jones, is a friend of mine and last Autumn he came to see a show and loved the theatre. "When he saw in the script he needed an old theatre to base the show in he got in touch." Wizards vs Aliens is due to air on CBBC this Autumn and follows young wizard, Tom Clarke and best friend Benny, defend the planet from aliens.
