SIR, I was a member of the original team at Monmouth Leisure Centre, teaching evening swimming classes. I gained an enormous feeling of job satisfaction seeing the joy on the faces of those who could at last swim, after 20-30 years of living with the fear of water. Hundreds, probably thousands in the Monmouth area have seen their children and grandchildren learn to swim in Monmouth Swimming Pool. The new swimming pool must be built before demolishing the old pool. Saving lives in our town with three rivers must take priority. Barbara Wright (Monmouth)
