The SARA lifeboat crew were called out recently following a report of a yacht drifting under the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.
The coastguard asked them to investigate this report. SARA Lifeboat one had just been put away after training, so it was quickly launched again, at around 8.45pm.
The crew made way to the downstream end of the possible area and searched back up through the area on the Welsh side of the Estuary.
On this occasion there was nothing to be seen and nothing on this radar, so the crew were stood down just after 9.30pm and returned back to Beachley to recover.
The Severn Area Rescue Association is a volunteer search and rescue charity providing emergency support across the Severn Estuary and surrounding areas.
