SEVERN Area Rescue Association (SARA) was called out by Gloucestershire Constabulary to assist in the search for a missing person in Horsley, near Stroud.

The team were asked at around 7.30pm on Saturday where they set out a number of land searches between approximately 9pm and midnight.

A few days later SARA recommenced the search with a water team, specialist rope team and additional land search teams, including a rope team tasked with searching an area of very steep ground. Colleagues from Wiltshire Search and Rescue were also requested to assist.

Searches were on going and the missing person was found by members of the public in an area the team were yet to look at.

The SARA team, including the SARA Medical Officer were at the scene when extracting the person. SWAST HART met the the team during the extraction and the patient was handed over to NHS care.
