Goodrich Cricket Club 1sts entertained Builth Wells at "The Avenue" cricket ground on a glorious sunny afternoon. With the aid of a lucky coin the Goodrich captain won the toss and put Builth in to bat. The opening bowling attack of Bradford and P Evans was too much as Builth subsided to 40 for 4. It was imperative that Goodrich kept the pressure on the Builth batsmen. The return to the side of Rufus Davies made the difference. He sent down 11 overs and took 4 wickets for 20 runs, including the main wicket of the Builth captain. Builth could only muster 109 runs from 39 overs as MT Evans cleared up the last 2 wickets. As the teams took tea they were able to admire the amazing view over the Welsh mountains. Goodrich started their reply in determined mood. Only the early dismissal of Griffiths was to mar a emphatic victory as Baron took the bowling apart with a domineering 88 not out. Victory was secured within 22 overs.
