A number of classic vehicles will set out this Friday at 9am from the Yew Tree Inn in Peterstow on a marathon journey to John O'Groats and back raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in Herefordshire and Ross Community Hospital League of Friends. The final planning for this event is now well underway with the group urgently raising as much sponsorship as possible and the vehicles receiving the final care and attention required for such an event. The journey to John O'Groats is going to take four days stopping over at Slyne (Lancashire), Perth and Thurso on the way – finally arriving on Monday 21st April. The return journey will take group to Inverness along the Caledonian Canal through Stirling and back to Ross on Thursday, April 24th. If anyone wants to see the group depart, they will be leaving the Yew Tree Inn in Peterstow at 9.00am on Friday, April 18th, to commence their 1400 mile journey – this will begin with a drive around Ross eventually travelling along Gloucester Road, past the Market Place and down Broad Street before making their way back to the Wilton roundabout and off to SCOTLAND. It is hoped that this will give the local community an opportunity to see the vehicles in all their glory and to wish them good luck for the journey.
