As part of works to renew and refurbish water mains in Ross, a series of road closures will be necessary. The works are essential to improve the quality of water supply in Ross and, in deciding on the road closures, Herefordshire Council has drawn up a plan in consultation with town and county councillors to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum. Councillor Brian Wilcox, Herefordshire Council's cabinet member for highways and transportation, said: "We've been working closely with businesses in the town to ensure the road closures are kept to a minimum. All access to frontages will remain open as will access to car parks. We want to stress that Ross-on-Wye will be very much open for business during these works and ask people to bear with us and help keep traffic flowing by following indicated diversions." Roads closed will be: April 7th: Smallbrook Road for two weeks. April 21st: Chase Road closed for one week.
