The wife of veteran rockstar Dave Edmunds has said her husband has been allowed home after his spell in hospital following major cardiac arrest.

The Cardiff-born singer, 81, who spent a lot of time recording at Rockfield studios in the 1970s was rushed to hospital after ‘dying in my arms’ last month, said his wife Cici.

The chart-topper, known for hits such as I Hear You Knocking and Baby I Love You, collapsed at his Monmouth home and it was feared he had died, but a nurse performed CPR on him and he was rushed to hospital where doctors resurrected him.

She said last month that he “very clearly has brain damage and severe memory loss etc. And the risk of yet another major cardiac arrest is high.”

Over the weekend. Cici thanked her followers from “the bottom of my heart” adding “As you all kindhearted human souls know he was resurrected by a miracle and an amazing medical team.

“He's allowed to stay here at home if my nurses look after us both

“I can't express my relief and my gratitude to all of you who have left such lovely posts of support and prayers.

“He's cracking jokes and walking short distances. Very short. But one has to start somewhere. He's doing great ! Hopefully he'll be rocking and rolling in no time.

“Sending you all much love”

Back in July, Cici Edmunds said that she was experiencing her own health challenges and had been hospitalized for “pancreatic attacks.”

Fans and friends responded to Cici’s post offering support for her and Dave Edmunds.

Edmunds is known for being the first to record and release the Elvis Costello song “Girls Talk” and producing and collaborating with several artists including Paul McCartney, the Stray Cats, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Status Quo.
