SIR,
As I cycled home from tennis coaching last week on a
wide stretch of road leaving Usk, I was overtaken so
closely by a small red Peugeot that its slipstream
pushed me into a pothole and I fell off.
I had to scramble quickly to the side of the road to
avoid a following car. Neither driver stopped.
As I sat nursing my grazed knees I wondered whether
I should ask my parents to drive me the five miles to
tennis in future - a pity considering our cycling
Olympians probably started their careers with short
rides from home, such as mine.
