SIR, I applaud the letter from Mrs Ford (last week's Beacon). Indeed, the road closures over the past two years in the immediate environment, have caused frustration at the very least for its inhabitants, but devastation for The Fountain Inn. The young couple, Jill and Steve Pollock, whose business it is, have worked very hard during their time here and have restored the inn to its former glory. It would be a huge loss to the community if they were compelled to close the door to this lovely old inn, which they have made so cosy and welcoming. It affords a real home from home (but with much better food!) Consideration and compensation should be given to such businesses whenever road closures are in the pipeline.
