SIR, In a war ravaged country there are many forgotten victims. The life of a dog, cat or working equine in Afghanistan is a desperate one and the wonderful charity Nowzad founded by former Royal Marine Pen Farthing is working tirelessly to relieve the suffering of animals in Afghanistan. They have a clinic in Kabul where they provide and maintain rescue, rehabilitation and education facilities for the care and treatment of such animals with no voice but that of the charity. They have helped our serving troops and befriended pets during their tours of duty in Afghanistan and have made a huge difference to welfare and brought joy to many troops when; with the assistance of Nowzad they have brought their befriended stray that made their tour of duty that much more bearable, home with them. We are holding our Christmas Coffee Morning at the Priory, Monmouth on Saturday 29th November from 10am to 1pm with an array of beautiful crafts and Nowzad goodies.
