CHEPSTOW-based charity Street Life Sarnies (SLS) has collected a record number of Easter eggs as part of their 2017 appeal.

The charity collected a total of 3,577 boxed and Creme Eggs across Wales and Bristol.

The eggs were distributed to more than 50 rough sleeper outreach teams, night shelters, day centres, hostels and foodbanks.

The 2017 total was an increase of 616 from 2016 and 2,290 from 2015 when the annual appeal first began.

The donated eggs came from a range of sources including individuals, businesses, community groups, schools, churches, clubs plus various Cubs, Beavers and Scouts groups.
