The following letter has been sent to parents and friends of Wyesham Scout Group:
"I am writing to you to assist us as part of the Scout Association's fight against the Rain Tax.
"We are given to understand that since we own our Headquarters (Hut!) we will shortly be receiving a water tax which could amount to anything up to £500 per annum. The Scout Association is appealing to Parliament, en mass, this week..
"Would you please go into the website - [email protected]">[email protected]. read about it and put your name to the petition - if you have a child/children in our Group, you will appreciate that this charge will have to be funded by us through fund raising or subscriptions.
"Please support this and join the protest".
