A PETITION calling for a 30mph speed limit on the A48 Chepstow, has received a response from the Welsh Government.

In a letter to Chepstow Town Council, Edwina Hart MBE, said a feasibility study had been reviewed and a detailed design of a pedestrian guard railing for the footway across the Wye Bridge will take place in the financial year.

The letter went on to say that the road will be taken into consideration as part of Welsh Government's review of speed limits on all trunk roads in Wales.

Chepstow Town Council will meet tonight (28th January) to discuss the letter.
