Welsh people who were recognised for their community work in the Queen's New Year's Honours list included Raglan's Elizabeth Davis who picked up an OBE for public service. She was previously the executive director of Natural Resources Wales.

Secretary of State for Wales Stephen Crabb congratulated the people in Wales who have been honoured by Her Majesty the Queen.

Among those honoured are public figures and many lesser-known people who have worked tirelessly for their communities and the causes in which they believe.

Mr Crabb said: "One of the great things about Her Majesty's New Year's Honours list is that people from many different backgrounds are honoured in the same way. Those who work quietly and diligently for their communities often receive the same recognition as those who achieve great things in sport, the arts or through public service. I am very proud of all the hardworking people in Wales who have been honoured and want to thank them all for contributing so much to Wales".
