Raft Race set to be truly oar-some

ORGANISERS of the 45th annual Monmouth Raft Race are urging competitors to get their entries in as soon as they can to avoid a last-minute rush.

The Rotary Club of Monmouthshire, which organises the annual event, says entries are already up on last year and signs are that 2010 could be a really bumper year for the race.

Proceeds from this year's event, which has attracted an event sponsor for the first time – The Crown at Whitebrook – will go to the St David's Foundation.
