Three more purse thefts occurred last Wednesday. This brings the number of purses stolen this year to 15. Police would remind people to use their lanyards or to pick one up free from the station if they haven't already got one. PC Jon Smith of Monmouth's Neighbourhood policing team said, "Three of the 15 victims actually had lanyards but didn't use them. At the moment this is the best way of ensuring that you don't become the next statistic." Advice on this problem can be obtained by contacting Monmouth Police.
