PUPILS at Shirenewton Primary School have raised £413 for the British Heart Foundation.
On Friday 20th March, the pupils wore non-school uniform and made fruit kebabs to raise money for the charity.
The pupils chose to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, as a pupil at the school has a very complex and serious heart condition.
Acting head teacher Jill Mitchell explained: "We were delighted to spend the day raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
"When you have a child in school suffering from a congenital heart condition, it is a natural instinct to want to help the British Heart Foundation find a cure for future children born with any kind of congenital heart defect.
"We always stress the importance of pupils living healthy lifestyles, and eating well is a key part of this.
"When young people eat healthy food regularly, they are sharper and more alert in class, while playing sports and carrying out other activities.
"It also helps reduce their risk of acquiring heart disease in the future.
"The day of activities was a massive success and the pupils had a great time.
"There was a real buzz all around the school, as everyone helped to raise money for a great cause."
