The Wombats' single Let's Dance to Joy Division" was released this week and co-incides with their sold-out European tour. Eleven children from Llangattock School sang the backing vocals. The three lads - Murph (vocal), Tord (guitar) and Dan (drums) were great fun and most appreciative of the children, asking if Llangattock was a stage school. "Not officially", they were told, adding that the school responds spontaneously to real experiences. Three weeks later pupils were on a coach to a film studio in Manchester to make their contribution to the video, which can be viewed on UTube. Pupil had a fabulous time with the Band. Atlantic Records were generous with their fee to the school and the mony will be spent on new equipment for the Music Department.
