Lt Col Neil Whitcombe, the commanding officer for the Monmouthshire based regiment said: "Since joining the Reserves she has completed a number of leadership and military skills courses and gone on adventure training expeditions that have developed her communication and leadership skills.

Amanda, who went to school at Offa's Mead and Wyedean, said: "I wasn't expecting this today but have been doing a lot of work towards this."
