When visiting my parents in Monmouthshire this

weekend I have been very impressed with the recycling

services they have access to through the local county

council.

The weekly collection of green waste must be a great

bonus for gardeners, especially during summer and

autumn, and disposes of vegetation which cannot be

added to the garden compost heap.

The weekly collection of paper/thin card, glass,

plastic bottles and food and drink cans for recycling in

one simple purple bag is also something I wish we had

access to in the Thames Valley where collection is

fortnightly and dependent on moving heavy bins to the

kerbside.
