SIR,
With all this bad weather we have had recently, the Highways Department of Monmouthshire County Council should be praised for all there efforts to keep our highways open.
The only disappointing part was Tudor Road in Wyesham. The council always refuse to grit this road, the reason is unclear
We went up there on Monday night to find the road was in a dangerous state. My wife is disabled and had to hang onto me to stop her falling, in the meantime a local man from Tudor Road, who is blind, had to find his own way down to the bus stop at the bottom on these treacherous surfaces.
The council are fast enough to jump on traders who put stalls out in front of their shops, but they could at least grit the path up there for the residents, even more so when one of them is blind.
If some grit was left there I would do it myself next time. I see these people struggling, and I live in Woodland View.
