GWENT Police's Owl neighbourhood watch system is warning of an apparent scam operating in the Chepstow and Usk areas.

Reports have been made claiming that two different vehicles are being used to sell power tools from.

The power tools are marked up as Stihl and Husqvarna, but apparently inside the boxes the tools are a much cheaper make and model.

A vehicle seen in Usk was a silver Ford Transit, the driver is reported to have an Irish accent.

The second vehicle was a white Vauxhall Vivaro, again the male driver is said to have an Irish accident.

A spokesperson from Owl said: "They use the excuse that they cannot take the tools back to Ireland because of tax laws and have to sell them quickly. Don't be taken in please".
